Coturnix Quail Hatching Eggs

“Quail is the new chicken”…super easy to raise in small spaces or larger aviaries, from hatching to egg production in as little as 5.5 weeks, with most starting to produce eggs between 7 and 8 weeks old. Compare that to 6 months for a chicken! Coturnix quail are all dark meat! You can raise them in an aviary or in cages in an apartment! I have both jumbo quail for meat (I have Pharaoh and Egyptian colors together in the same aviary) and rare colors together in a second aviary for eggs–these birds are slightly smaller than the jumbos, but are pretty and both produce tons of eggs. Quail eggs are nutrient-dense food and have more nutrition per weight than chicken eggs. Local ordinances often limit how many chickens you can have–quail are often overlooked by these ordinances, plus they sound like a funky songbird most people are not familiar with. I am selling fertile hatching eggs for $10/dozen for local pick-up only.

My name is Katrina Krakow, and I bought my house on a 7,000 square-foot urban lot in 2013. I pulled out all the landscaping and planted edible landscaping and was determined to grow food. I got Coturnix quail in late 2020 and chickens and rabbits in 2021. I started my YouTube channel “Sow and Tare” late in 2021 and I share self-sustainable information with people. I love to share knowledge with people and swap stories and recipes. My next goal is to be able to afford a large property to grow a food forest and raise animals self-sustainably.
